Mr. Hershel Kidd

MINDEN, LA - Mr. Hershel Kidd, 88, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 1999. The funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 10, 1999 at Antioch Baptist Church near McIntyre, LA with Rev. Malcolm Self and Rev. Danny Warbington officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, Minden, LA. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, LA on Thursday, September 9, 1999.

Mr. Kidd was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Juanita Crain Kidd and is survived by one son, Billy H. Kidd and wife, Leverne of Minden, LA; two daughters, Anita Faye Braswell of Bossier City, LA and Rita Peaker and husband Butch of Minden; five grandchildren, Mark Braswell and wife Cindy, Robert Kidd and wife Jenell, Sabrina Nicholas and husband Don, Scott Brown Peaker and wife Terri and Angela Peaker; and 12 great-grandchildren. Mr. Kidd is also survived by one sister, Neoma Adams of Sikes, LA and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Kidd was born in Sikes, LA on September 5, 1911. He and his family moved to the Minden area in 1942. Mr. Kidd was an automobile mechanic most of his working career and retired from the Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant in 1976.

Pallbearers will be Mark Braswell, Robert Kidd, Scott Brown Peaker, Crosby Adams Jr., Fred Kidd and Garland Kidd.
