SHREVEPORT
Graveside services for Mr. Hershel Shaw, 58, of 1843 Hollyhock, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday July 3 at Double Churches Cemetery in Winn Parish, La. under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, La.
Visitation at Rose-Neath Funeral Home's Southside Chapel in Shreveport will be from 4:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. Thursday July 2.
He died at Wed. July 1, 1981 at 8:30 p.m. at Doctor's Hospital in Shreveport following a brief illness.
Mr. Shaw, born in Winnfield, La. and a resident of Shreveport since 1952, was Vice President-Purchasing at Allen Millwork, Inc. and a member of Brookwood Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II and was shot down in Holland and held prisoner of war by Germany for 15 months.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucille Shaw; son, Robert Shaw; both of Shreveport; two daughters, Mrs. Alyne Watson of Shreveport, La. and Mrs. Barbara Clark of Washington, D.C.; 5 grandchildren.
Pallbearers: Joe Legan, Terry Shaw, Bobby Kelly, Herbert Patrick, Burrows Wheless and Drew Barron.
Honorary Pallbearers: Employees of Allen Millwork, Inc.
