Mrs. J. E. Emmons Dies Suddenly

Mrs. J. E. Emmons passed away at her home today following a heart attack. She had been ill for several years.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Oren McColgin, will be held at the First Christian Church Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. Burial will be in Odd Fellows cemetery with Wilson and Knight in charge.

Mrs. Emmons was one of the oldest and best loved members of the Christian church and served her church with loyalty and devotion. She was the daughter of the late James and Nannie Doris Wall, prominent and pioneer citizens of this area.

She is survived by her husband, J. E. Emmons, and two sons, Charles M. Harris, Greenwood, and James Everett Emmons, Jr., Shreveport, La., also a daughter, Mrs. Conger Jones, Jackson. A brother, B. W. Wall of Carroll county and several nieces and nephews, also survive.

Pallbearers will be: Will Kimbrough, Jake Holland, Itta Bena; Bob White, Minga Lawrence, Jim Bowles, John Brogan, Richard Clarke, Gene Denman and Norman Brewer.
