Hilda M. Freeman

Hilda Marie Freeman, 53, a native of McComb and resident of Kentwood, La., died Dec. 23, 1999, at Hood Memorial Hospital in Amite, La.

Visitation is 5-9 tonight at Bethel Baptist Church in Kentwood and will continue there from 9 a.m. Monday until religious services at 11 a.m. The Rev. Blake Shipp and the Rev. Michael McCarty Townsend will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Kentwood.

Mrs. Freeman was born April 28, 1946, in McComb. She was the daughter of Claude Freeman and Avis Bass, both of Amite County.

She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her father, Claude Freeman Sr.; and a sister, Marguerite Freeman Guidry.

She is survived by her husband, Johnnie Elvin Smith of Kentwood; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sherry Marie Smith and Chris Rosamond and Tammy Denise Smith, all of Kentwood; two grandchildren, Stormie Marie Rosamond and Dustin Elvin Rosamond; her mother, Avis Laird of Natchez; three brothers, Claude Freeman Jr. and Wilburn Freeman, both of Liberty and Jerry Freeman of Kentwood.
