Mrs. Walter Jacks Succumbs Here Today After Brief Illness

Mrs. Hilda Lucille Jacks, 43, of 118 Colvin Street, Ruston, died at a Ruston hospital at 5:45 a.m. today following an illness of about three weeks. Mrs. Jacks was a native of Dodson and had resided in Lincoln parish for about 15 years.

Funeral services will be held in the Temple Baptist Church Thursday at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. H. L. Sampson, former pastor of the Temple church, and the Rev. G. Avery Lee, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Greenwood cemetery under the direction of the Kilpatrick funeral home of Ruston.

Mrs. Jacks is survived by her husband, Walter T. Jacks of Ruston; one daughter, Miss Nancy Lou Jacks of Ruston; one son, Mr. Ramie Jacks of Ruston; three sisters, Mrs. O. R. Hammons of Longview, Tex., Mrs. M. C. Oglesby of Ruston, and Mrs. R. I. Lester of Orlando, Florida; one brother, Lane W. Sharmon [sic Sharman] of Beverly Hills, California, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. R. Sharmon [sic Sharman] of Ruston.

The body will remain at the Kilpatrick funeral home until time for services Thursday.

Mrs. Jacks was a member of the Temple Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star and was active in civic and church activities in Rutson [sic Ruston].
