Hiram C. Jowers

Funeral rites were at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Spears Funeral Home in Monroe for Hiram Cleve Jowers, 62, of Route 2, West Monroe, with the Revs. Maurice Cotten and Mr. Cory officiating.

Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Jowers died Wednesday night in Glenwood Hospital after a lengthy illness.

A lifelong resident of Ouachita Parish, Mr. Jowers was a retired employee of Olincraft, Inc.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Katherine Jowers of West Monroe; one son, Edward Jawers [sic Jowers] of Shreveport; two daughters, Mrs. Marie Denison of Port Arthur, Tex. and Mrs. Jo Ann Beavers of West Monroe; four brothers, Frank Jowers and Alvie Jowers of West Monroe, Dick Jowers of Monroe, and Milton Jowers of Alexandria; one sister, Mrs. Ralph Hale of Dowey, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ralph Paschal, J. L. Bennett, Coye Pratt, Cecil Redmond, Don Moore and Charles Brownlee.
