Holland L. Boring Sr.
March 15, 1905 -- Aug. 1, 2000

Holland L. Boring Sr., 95, entered into the Lord's presence Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000. He was born March 15, 1905 in Franklin County, Texas.

The celebration of his life was held Friday at Memorial Funeral Home in Bryan with burial in Steep Hollow Cemetery.

Mr. Boring resided at Lakewood Village Christian Care Center in Fort Worth. He served the Lord throughout his life as a minister for the Church of Christ within the Fort Worth area and throughout the United States. Holland was a school teacher, principal and served as dean of Columbia Christian College in Portland, Ore. He was loved by his family, friends and thousands of students who attended the many gospel singing schools he taught and directed throughout the years. His servant heart was also displayed throughout the many songs and poems he composed. His life's dedication was to glorify the Lord. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated from Abilene Christian College in Abilene. He joined Gladys, his loving wife of 70 years, and his three sons, Holland Jr., Kenneth and Donald, who preceded him in death.

Survivors include daughters-in-law, Kathy Boring of Arlington and Ann Jones of Abilene; grandchildren, Pamela Gage, Patti Spires, Penni Strother, DeAnne Draper, Todd Boring and Holland L. Boring III; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Everyone knew him as Paw-Paw.
