Services for Holland Boring Jr., 66, formerly of Bryan are set for 1 p.m. Friday at Gateway Church of Christ in Gregory, Texas.

Mid McKnight, Glenn Alexander and Tim Spires will officiate.

Graveside services are planned for 1 p.m. Saturday in Steep Hollow Cemetery.

Callaway-Jones Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Mr. Boring died Tuesday morning in a Corpus Christi hospital.

He was born in San Antonio. He preached at Gateway Church of Christ in Gregory for eight years. He also preached at Highland Church of Christ in Abilene, Turnpike Church of Christ in Grand Prairie, Texas, and Basalt Church of Christ in Basalt, Co. He was the director for the Firm Foundation School of Music and helped found several singing schools.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine ``Kathy'' Boring of Portland, Texas; one son, Holland Boring III of Portland; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Pamela Gay and Larry Carter of Arlington, Texas, Patricia Ann and Tim Spires of Arlington and Penni Denise Ince of Arlington; his parents, Holland L. and Gladys Boring of Bryan; and six grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Gateway Church of Christ in Gregory.
