Homer Lee Gilliam Dies; Rites Slated

COLUMBIA, Tenn. -- Homer Lee Gilliam, 77, of Columbia, retired farmer and carpenter and formerly of the Bryant's Station community, died yesterday in Maury County Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Gilliam was the grandfather of Clyde Lee, former Vanderbilt University Basketball star and now playing forward with the Golden State Warriors, Oakland, Calif.

Gilliam, who has been in ill health, was taken to the hospital early yesterday and died a short time after being admitted.

Other survivors include his widow, Mrs. Susie Belle Luttrell Gilliam; four daughters, Mrs. Bob Helmick, Mrs. William Patton, Columbia, and Mrs. Clyde Lee and Mrs. James Morrow, Nashville; a son, James Osborne Gilliam, Cleveland, Ohio; a brohter [sic brother] Milton Gilliam, Columbia, and 10 other grandchildren.
