Homer J. Upton
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Bellevue Union Church for Homer J. Upton, 73, of Rt. 1, Haughton.
Mr. Upton died at 5:10 p.m. Thursday in Highland Hospital after a long illness.
He was a native of Lincoln Parish and had lived in Haughton for 52 years. Mr. Upton was a retired merchant. He helped found the Bellevue Union Church.
Officiating for the services will be the Rev. Ira Schilling, pastor of Bellevue. He will be assisted by the Rev. Warren Dement, pastor of Peace Chapel Assembly of God.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Bossier City.
Mr. Upton is survived by his widow; a son, David N. Upton of Haughton; two brothers, W. C. Upton of Benton and R. H. Upton of Shreveport; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
