Horace Howard Henry
Funeral services for Horace Howard Henry, 65, of Snyder will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Colonial Chapel of Sullivan Funeral Home with John Quick officiating. Burial will be in City Cemetery, Kilgore.
Mr. Henry died at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 1985, in Medical Center Hospital, Odessa, after an extended illness.
The son of Mark Twain Henry and Callie Ellen Waldrop Henry, he was born May 1, 1920, in Little Rock, Ark. He attended Morrilton, Ark., public schools and Cherry Hill School and married Ethel Virginia Gilliand on Sept. 21, 1957, in Shreveport. He was an auto body repairman and was owner/operator of H&H Body Shop of Marshall.
Mr. Henry was a member of First Baptist Church, Sulphur Springs, was a former member of the Second Baptist Church of Marshall and V.F.W. in Plainview, Ark. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife of Snyder; two sons, Harvey Horace Henry of Lufkin and Ronnie Eugene Henry of Bedford; one daughter, Mrs. Edwin (Sarah Faye) Windham of Forrest, Miss.; 10 grandchildren; one stepson, David Nix of Kilgore; one stepdaughter, Beverly Rachal of Kilgore; his father of Marshall; one brother, Reuell Henry of Marshall; two sisters, Mrs. Layton (Markie Ellen) Hudspett of Rover, Ark. and Mrs. Kenneth (Jettie Lee) Howard of Morrilton, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Gerald Wayne Hensley, Scotty Lovelace, Todd Lovelace, John Erick Henry, Richard Davis, Melvin Henry and David Gilliand.
Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. George Earl Bennett.
