PEPPER, HORACE G.

Died Sunday, March 12, 1995, in Baton Rouge. He was 83. He was retired from a long career as the head legal counsel for the state of Louisiana Department of Public Welfare.

Funeral services at Southern Funeral Home Chapel, Winnfield, at 3 p.m Wednesday, conducted by Dr. Calvin Phelps. Interment in Garden of Memories.

Survived by three daughters, Rosemary Stockett, Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Sarah Ann Jones and Gabria Wilkins, both of Baton Rouge; a son, Horace Pepper Jr., Crystal Springs, Miss; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Elma P. Nickelson, Monroe; a brother, Homer Pepper, Laurel, Miss.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by wife, Ruby Gates Pepper, Dec. 26, 1994.
