Houston Halford
Services for Houston Halford will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2008 in the Pentecostals of Alexandria with Bishop G.A. Mangun, Rev. Anthony Mangun and Rev. Terry Shock officiating. Interment will be in Alexandria Memorial Gardens, Alexandria under the direction of John Kramer & Son.
Houston Halford left this world to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 5, 2008. Houston, 78, was born to Benjamin and Virgie McCarty Halford in Louin, Mississippi on November 3, 1929. Houston was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He served honorably as a captain for the Alexandria Police Department until he retired in 1976. He was a business partner in Premier Video.
Houston enjoyed outdoor activities, specifically hunting, fishing and four-wheeler riding.
His favorite past time was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, four brothers and six sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory are: his loving wife of almost 51 years, Marcene Jowers Halford; one daughter, Sandra Bordelon and husband, Jimmy; one son, Terry Halford and wife, Denise; four grandchildren, Mark Bordelon and fiance Rachel Landrum, Paige Bordelon, Meagan Johnson and husband, Seth, Mallory Halford, all of Alexandria; one brother, Lavon Halford of Vermont; three sisters, Betty Lou Brock of South Carolina, Mary Edith Turner of Texas, Leora Hendrickson of Nebraska and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation for Houston will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2008 and from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the Pentecostals of Alexandria.
Pallbearers will be: Mark Bordelon, Seth Johnson, Richard Tyson, Danny Ivie, Craig Jowers and Robert Rachal.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Ronnie Ducote, Buddy Lucas and Larry Stark.
