STEWART, HOWARD B. ``H.B.''

Died 6 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, 1993, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 74, a native of Kentwood and a resident of Baton Rouge. He was retired owner of H.B. Stewart Plumbing and Heating and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Visiting at Hollabaugh-Spindle Wooddale Memorial Chapel, 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday, and 8 a.m.to religious services at 11 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Bill Allen. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Survived by wife, Lillie Moody Stewart; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Joe Adduci, Slidell, Lisa and Jay Sheppard, Fayetteville, N.C.; two sons, Michael A. Stewart, Fayetteville, N.C., and David Barber, Baton Rouge; four sisters, Lillian Raborn, Blanche Wheat and Othelle Williams, all of Kentwood, and Earlene Allen, Baton Rouge; a brother, Eldridge Stewart, Lake Charles; six grandchildren, Michelle and Lucas Wood, Stewart and Meredeth Ellis, Byrrl and Remy Sheppard.

Preceded in death by parents, Drury and Etta Stewart; a brother, L.D. Stewart, Roswell, N.M.

He was a member of Istrouma Baptist Church, a 32nd degree mason, a member of Fairfield Lodge No. 425 F&AM, and Fifth Battalion Seabees. He helped establish and set up first naval reserve center in Baton Rouge, and was appointed commissioner of Old Arsenol Museum at the State Capitol under Governor John McKeithen.
