Howard Manley Dies; Funeral Is Wednesday

Howard F. Manley, 75, of 111 S. Howell St., Davenport, died at 8:45 a.m. today in St. Anthony's Hospital, Rock Island, after an extended illness.

A native of Steamboat Corner, Iowa, Mr. Manley married the former Sadie Perniski in Dixon in 1920. She died in 1953. He later married Minnie Kay Killion in Davenport in December, 1959.

Mr. Manley had been a janitor at St. Anthony's Hospital, retiring in January, 1960.

He is survived by his wife; a step-daughter, Mrs. John Ploog, McCausland; a step-son, Herman Filbrandt of Moline; three step-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Esterdahl Chapel, Moline. THe Rev. John Koning, pastor of Newcomb Presbyterian Church, Davenport, will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Estate. Friends may call at the mortuary after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
