MR. HOWARD W. “SPEEDY” HENNEN

STERLINGTON, LA. -- Services for Mr. Howard W. “Speedy” Hennen, 67 of Sterlington will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 1990 at Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel on Sterlington Road in Monroe with the Rev. Mickey Humphrey officiating. Burial will be in Hasley Cemetery.

Mr. Hennen died Monday, November 12, 1990 at St. Francis Medical Center after a brief illness.

Mr. Hennen was a member of Pine Grove Church. He was retired from law enforcement after 25 years of service. Mr. Hennen served with the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Department and the Northeast Louisiana University Police. He was the first chief of police for the town of Sterlington. Mr. Hennen was a member of the Louisiana Peace Officers Association and a veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his son, Mark DeWayne Hennen.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Banks Hennen of Sterlington, Louisiana; one son Dennis W. Hennen and daughter-in-law, Helen Pierce Hennen of Monroe, Louisiana; grandchildren, Laura Beth Hennen, Tyler Jace Hennen, and Derek Mark Hennen; sister Mary DuVall Latham and brother-in-law Jesse Latham of West Monroe.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Moore, Dennie Mike Moore, Tommy Lawson, Wayne Jennings, Russell Nolan, and Pat Wright.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
