Howard E. Newsom

JENA -- Services for Howard E. Newsom will be at 11 a.m. today in the chapel of Hixson Bros. with the Revs. Mike Courtney and Johnnie Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Robert's Cemetery, Kelly.

Newsom, 76, of Trout died Wednesday, July 3, 1996, in his residence.

He was a carpenter and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Trout. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Velma Anglin Newsom of Trout; one son, Robert Jeffrey Newsom of Walker; three daughters, Betty Ramagos of Denham Springs, Linda Force of Atlanta, Ga., and Donna McClendon of Jena; his mother, Fannie Newsom of Monroe; three brothers, Arvel Newsom of Ruston, Robert Newsom of Dallas, Texas, and Burgess Newsom of Franklin, Va.; one sister, Alene Brown of Sterlington; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 8 a.m. until time of services today in the funeral home.
