Hoy Lucas
Services for Hoy ``H.W.'' Lucas will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville, with the Rev. Tom Lott officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Winnfield.
Lucas, 85, of Pineville died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, in Rapides Regional Medical Center.
He was a member of Pineville Park Baptist Church. During his lifetime, he served as an ordained deacon, a choir member, a Sunday school teacher and other church-related responsibilities. He also served as secretary for the Adult I Sunday school department. He retired with more than 30 years service with Missouri-Pacific and Texas-Pacific railroads. He was recognized for 50-year membership in United Transportation Union Local #1545.
He was preceded in death by one son, Leonard Morris Lucas; his parents, Enos Robert Lucas and Sarah Jane McCarty Lucas; and three sisters, Evia Lee McDavid, Ozia Mae Jordan and Clara Olar Mercer.
Survivors include his wife, Inez M. Lucas of Pineville; one son, Louis Kirby Lucas of Daytona Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Loise A. Lucas of Winnfield and Clomer D. Lucas of Shreveport; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be James Kirby Malloy, Lowell Kreston Lucas, Nolan Hoy Lucas, Ervin Lamar Lucas, Charles O'Banion and Lloyd Jordan.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until time of services Friday in the funeral home.
