Hoyt A. Jones

Hoyt A. Jones, 63, formerly of Bloomington, was found dead at his home in Rantoul Tuesday morning. He had been dead several days. Death was due to natural causes.

His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Beck Memorial Home, with the Rev. Arno Weniger officiating. Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the memorial home.

He was born at Ruston, La., Aug. 27, 1908, a son of Seaborn and Mattie Ann Grigsby. He married Doris Swan Lush Feb. 2, 1946, at Bloomington. She died Nov. 5, 1966.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Mamie Westerfield, 1416 W. Walnut; Mrs. Shirley Carver, R.R. 2, Hudson; Mrs. Roberta Whalen, 1408 N. Western; two sisters, Mrs. Nita Farrell, California; Mrs. Nettie Bridges, Ruston, La.; 14 grandchildren; a great-grandchild.

He was a retired Air Force sergeant and a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, and the NCO Club at Rantoul.

A brother preceded him in death.
