Funeral services for Hugh Edcil Emmons, 85, of Rosenberg, Texas will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 25, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rosenberg. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Pastor Wayne Schueler will officiate the services.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Thursday, April 24, 2008 in the State Room of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.

Hugh was born February 18, 1923 in Center to Mart and Docia Ann (Birdwell) Emmons. He served in the Marines in WWII and attended the University of Texas, he was very active at Trinity Lutheran Church and served as an Elder, usher and singer. Hugh had a great sense of humor and loved to sing. He was retired and was a member of the American Legion. Hugh passed away April 23, 2008 in Richmond.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mart and Docia Emmons; and brothers, Travis, Gilbert and Jewel Emmons.

Hugh is survived by his loyal friend and companion, Lily Sontag; Daughter: Janet Anderson and her husband, John, of Pleak; Son: Daniel Emmons and his wife, Teresa, of Richmond; Grandchildren: Jessica Ruth Hager and her husband, Brandon, of Flower Mound, Lori Ann Mireles and her husband, Joe, of San Antonio, Charles Rene Emmons, of Richmond, Dr. Jacqueline Emmons of Dallas, Christopher Daniel Emmons of Manchester, England; Great Grandchildren: Sean Jacob Emmons of Stafford, Alexis Brittany Emmons, of Richmond, Gabriela, Matthew Jacob, Meagan Marie and Emily Elizabeth Mireles, of San Antonio, Jacob James and Benjamin John Hager, of Flower Mound; Brother: Ray Emmons of Houston; Also, numerous other relatives and many friends.
