Services for Hugh V. McCarty Jr., will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013 in the chapel of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Bruce Miller officiating.
Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Hugh V. McCarty Jr., age 73, of Alexandria passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in his residence.
He is preceded in death by his parents Hugh Sr. and Merle McCarty; his first wife Dorothy Pope; son John Newton and granddaughter Annabelle Jeansonne. Hugh retired after 32 years of service with the Rapides Bank & Trust Co. He also retired after 22 years of service with the Heart of Louisiana Federal Credit Union.
Hugh loved hunting, fishing, bowling, square dancing and playing bridge. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 40 years Jo McCarty of Alexandria; his 6 children: Kaeryn Bass and husband Riley of Pineville, Kimbrel “Butch” McCarty of Colfax, Jessica Lauren McCarty and fiancé Shane of Bordelonville, Paula Ann Newton of Lecompte, Carla Newton Jeansonne and husband Russ of Alexandria, Robin Gwin Parker and husband Chris of Marietta, GA; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, as well as long time friend Mr. W.D. Newton of Alexandria.
The family would also like to thank the nursing staff of 5 North at Cabrini Hospital, STAT Home Health, St. Joseph's Hospice, and Linda Rivers for the loving care Mr. McCarty received.
