``In Memorium''

At her home in Woodlawn on December 28th the spirit of Mrs. Ida Blake Stanley took its flight and went home to the God who gave it.

Surviving her are her husband, T. G. Stanley; one son, Thomas Stanley; two daughters, Miss Phelia Stanley, of Woodlawn, and Mrs. Chas. Lillick, of Belle Ellen; one brother, R. C. Blake, of Trussville; two sisters, Mrs. W. A. Stephens, of Bessemer, and Mrs. William Roland, of Youngblood. She was the daughter of Mr. Isaac T. Blake and Mrs. Tabbie Blake, pioneer citizens of Bibb County. Mrs. Stanley was born near Schultz Creek, Bibb County, in 1870; at the age of 13 years, she united with the church, giving 45 years of her life to Christian service.

Truly, one who served so long deserves to enter into a haven of rest, and hear the welcome from a loving father, ``Enter thou into the joys of thy Lord.'' She was not only faithful in the service of her Master, but served her family and friends as well. She was loyal to her husband, a devoted and loving mother.

The Father hath said ``Because I live ye shall live also.'' She is keeping vigil on yonder shore, death does not end all. Some day those who mourn the loss of this dear woman will triumph over death and be reunited with her.

``In my Father's house are many mansions, mansions not made with hands, but mansions eternal, prepared for the redeemed of earth, where families will be reunited to live together and sing praises to the most high.''

As her spirit was about to take its flight she sang hymns of praise. We can see the beautiful gates as they open wide, and she was ushered into His presence, with the angels taking up the refrain, singing songs of Moses and the Lamb. -- Mrs. Eugene Smith.
