Ilena Jo Weldon
(February 25, 1930 - October 4, 2012)

Ilena Jo Weldon 82, passed away October 4, 2012 at her home in Greenville, TX, from lung cancer.

Jo was born February 25, 1930 on a cotton farm in White Rock, TX, the sixth of seven children of Bertran Elhanan & Nettie Reisor. She graduated from Wolfe City High School and worked as a telephone operator in Greenville, TX, before marrying William “Billy” I. Weldon, Jr. of Ladonia, TX. She accompanied Billy on his 20 year career in the U.S. Air Force, living in San Antonio, TX, Colorado Springs, CO, Yokota AFB, Japan, and Las Vegas, NV, before they returned to the Hunt County area and settled in Greenville, TX in 1968. Jo returned to work as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell as it transitioned into the computer age. She retired in 1998 and enjoyed gardening, puttering in her house, and traveling. Her travels took her to England, France, Germany, and Italy as well as traveling extensively in the USA.

She is survived by her son Bill Gregory and Deborah Weldon of Flower Mound, TX, daughter Dr. Dean Angela Weldon of Oak Harbor, WA, and son Ronald Alan Weldon of Grapevine, TX, grandchildren Elizabeth C. Weldon of Flower Mound, Brent N. Weldon of Brooklyn, NY, and Autumn S. Weldon of Flomaton, AL, and one great-granddaughter Lola G. Weldon, also of Flomaton, AL. She is also survived by two sisters, Loveta Adams of Wolfe City and Geraldine Reisor of Greenville, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceeded in death by husband, William I. Weldon, Jr. in 1984 and also by her four brothers: Johnnie Reisor, Elvis Reisor, Bertis Reisor, and Bill Reisor.

A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 8, 2012 at LYNCH Funeral Home in Caddo Mills.
