Iley Vickers

URANIA -- Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. today in Urania Baptist Church for Iley G. Vickers, 74, of Urania with the Rev. Jack Baucom and Rev. Doris Dearman officiating.

Burial was in Beech Creek Cemetery near Olla under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Mr. Vickers died at 5 p.m. Saturday at Hardtner Medical Center at Urania after a brief illness.

A native of Sikes, Mr. Vickers was a member of the Urania Baptist Church and the Urania Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Maude Vickers of Urania; two sons, Lyndell Vickers of Houston, Tex. and Stanley Vickers of Baton Rouge; one daughter, Mrs. James Parson of Harrisburg, Pa.; two brothers, Esley Vickers of Crowville and Qunicy [sic Quincy] Vickers of Olla; three sisters, Mrs. Ora Lockey of Houston, Tex., Mrs. Nellie Waggoner of Albany and Mrs. Nettie Cook of Pasadena, Tex.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The body will be at the church.
