Imogene “Jeannie” McCarty Henderson

Imogene “Jeannie” McCarty Henderson -- a 40 year resident of Mobile died Saturday, December 24, 2011, at a local hospital at the age of 72. She was the only child of the late Osborne Barney McCarty and Lelia McDaniel McCarty of Laurel, MS.
Jeannie was a retired registered nurse who graduated from Mobile Infirmary School of Nursing and the University of Mobile. As a certified oncology nurse, she was employed at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center, Tulane University Hospital in New Orleans, LA, and as the Director of Nursing at Visiting Nurse Association of Mobile. Jeannie was a member of Dauphin Way Baptist Church.
A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her devoted son, William Lee Henderson, III; her grandson and the light of her life, William Rhett Henderson; nephew, B.G. “Chip” Newman, III (Clara); and one great-niece, Virginia Caradine Newman of Madison, MS.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at 2 p.m. Visitation will begin at 1p.m. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
