SERVICES FOR MR. MIDDLETON HELD SUNDAY

Respected Citizen Was Inspector For Waterworks System Of I. C. Railroad

Ingram Purser Middleton, age 59, passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, at 5:15 a.m. at his home on Minnesota avenue.

Mr. Middleton was born Jan. 20, 1888 in Franklin county. He came to McComb 34 years ago, all of which time has been spent in McComb except two years when he lived back in Franklin county. Mr. Middleton was inspector for the entire waterworks system for the I. C. Railroad. Two weeks ago, while at work in Birmingham, Ala., he suffered a severe heart attack. Mrs. Middleton, who happened to be with him, at the same time visting a sister in Birmingham, accompanied him home and his condition was thought to be improved. However, a series of heart attacks culminated in his passing Saturday morning.

The funeral was held from his residence at 3 o'clock Sunday with the Rev. J. A. Smith of the Centenary Methodist church and Rev. Wyatt R. Hunter of the First Baptist church in charge. Interment followed in Hollywood cemetery.

Mr. Middleton is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gladys Gresham Middleton; one daughter, Mrs. Versie Barlow of McComb; two grandchildren, Kenneth and Treva Ann Barlow; one brother, Carroll Middleton; three sisters, Mrs. Sam Huff of Birmingham; Mrs. Horace Whittington and Mrs. A. T. Long of Shreveport.

Critz, Ben Wooten, J. A. Johnson, E. H. Stevens, D. H. Owens, G. A. Wicklund, B. J. Wall, W. E. Thomas, P. W. Verner, W. L. Ratliff, Sr., H. W. Lloyd and A. J. Burkett.

Catchings Funeral Home was in charge of services.
