Sister of Parish Woman Buried
Mrs. Iola B. Smith, sister of Mrs. O. B. Crain of near Grayson, who is a resident of West Monroe, died Wednesday morning of last week in a Monroe sanitarium. She was 63 years of age.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday from the West Monroe First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jaroy Weber in charge. Interment was made in the Hasley cemetery.
Besides the sister residing in this parish, she is survived by her husband, John Smith, Sr.; three daughters, Mrs. Leona Britton of Monroe; Mrs. C. D. Boyd of West Monroe; Mrs. Tommy Clark of West Monroe; four sons, W. M. Smith of Hammond, M. R. Smith of the U.S. Army, A. C. Smith of West Monroe and J. R. Smith of the U.S. Navy; a brother, Roy Beavers of Sikes and 11 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Lewis Blake, B. O. Hogan, Ben Brooks, Willie Clark, Farrell Ketchell and Archie White.
