Ira Henon Peavy

JENA (Special) -- Funeral services for Ira Henon Peavy, 48, will be held today at 3 p.m. at the Belah Methodist Church with the Rev. E. W. Sandell, the Rev. S. B. Spinks and the Rev. J. C. Rouseaux officiating. Interment will follow in the Belah Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at the residence, Trout Route one, until noon Sunday.

Mr. Peavy died in an Alexandria hospital Saturday morning after a nine hour stay. He had been bed-ridden for a number of years.

He was a native of Pollock, but had resided at Trout, Route one, since 1923.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Viola Peavy of Trout, Route one; three brothers, Aaron Peavy and Welby Peavy, both of Trout, Route one, and Leo Peavy of Jena; and one sister, Mrs. Barbara J. Boyette of Troute, Route one.

Pallbearers will be Carl Peavy, Jerry Peavy, Earl Wayne Peavy, Paul Strozier, Marion Strozier and Joe Twinner [sic Twiner].
