Ira Carpenter, 55, Succumbs; Rites Held Tues.

Funeral services for Ira Solomon Carpenter, 55, were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cypress Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. W. L. Fussell officiating, assisted by the Rev. Glen Fogger.

Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home here.

Mr. Carpenter died Sunday, November 5, 1967 in Winnfield after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Dodson.

Survivors are his widow, three sons, John L. Carpenter of Monroe, Gordon L. Carpenter of Texas, and Travis Carpenter of Winnfield; five daughters, Mrs. Nellie Terral of Jonesboro, Mrs. Joyce LeBarron of Atlanta, Miss Angela Carpenter and Miss Ruth Carpenter, both of Dodson, and Mrs. Agnes Reeves of Winnfield; four brothers, Edgar Carpenter of Newelton, Joe Carpenter and Charlie Carpenter, both of Dodson, Leo Carpenter of West Monroe; one sister, Mrs. Lucy Talley of Newelton, and seven grandchildren.
