Irene Jordan Hobbs, 87, a retired purchasing agent for DeSoto Inc., died of heart failure Tuesday, December 12, 2000, at Briar Hill Rest Home. Services are 11 a.m. today at Lakewood Memorial Funeral Home with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Mrs. Hobbs was a native of Standing Pines and a graduate of Mississippi College for Women. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Survivors include: husband, George E. Hobbs of Florence; and niece, Sue J. Brooks of Madison.
