Jal Pioneer Dead at 59

Mrs. S. A. Dyer, longtime Jal resident, died in Jal Lea General Hospital this morning. She was 59.

Mrs. Dyer had been ill for several months.

She is survived by her husband, S. A. Dyer Sr. of Jal, two sons, S. A. Dyer Jr. of Lovington and Bobby Dyer of Jal; three daughters, Mrs. Dale Fry of Hobbs, Mrs. Bobby Pierce of Jal, and Mrs. Coy Pierson of Jal; two brothers, three sisters and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral rites are set at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the First Methodist Church of Jal with the Rev. Jack Abendschan, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Jal, officiating. Burial will be in Kermit (Tex.) Cemetery.
