Iris Black Cathey

MINDEN, LA -- Funeral services for Iris Black Cathey, 92 of Minden, LA (formerly of Castor) will be held at Rockett Funeral Home in Ringgold, LA at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2004. Burial will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Rev. Benjamin F. Jordan.

Mrs. Cathey passed away at 10:00 p.m. on June 24, 2004 and was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Emmett D. Cathey along with her son, Jerry K. Cathey.

She is survived by a daughter, Marjorie Reichling Miller of Deer Park, WA; two sons, Charles L. Cathey and his wife Kathlean of Minden, LA, and Edwin M. Cathey and his wife Barbara of Asheville, NC; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Edwin M. Cathey. Jr., Gary A. Cathey, Rodney W. Cathey, Kenneth A. Gamble, Justin D. Normand, and Kevin D. Reichling.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund of Castor First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 205, Castor, LA 71016.
