Irma Mott Jones
Visitation for Irma Mott Jones, 84, of West Monroe, La. will be Sunday evening from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe. Graveside service and interment will be held at Twin Cities Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Monroe on Monday, March 9, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. Reverend Dub Massey will officiate.
Mrs. Jones was born in Hebert, La. on March 25, 1919 to Daniel and Liddie Mott.
Mrs. Jones was a resident of West Monroe and had recently resided in Bossier City at Garden Court Nursing Home as her health began to decline. She retired from the Department of Transportation in 1976 after 35 years of service. Mrs. Jones was a member of the First Baptist Church in West Monroe, La. She was a loving mother, grandmother and was known for her generous nature and kind spirit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Liddie Mott, husband, Roye Jones, brothers, Euel, Clyde, George and James Mott and sister, Ruby Brown.
Mrs. Jones is survived by one son, Roy David Jones and wife, Angela of Benton, La.; grandson, Jeremy Jones of New Orleans, La.; two granddaughters, Allison Reed and husband, Jeff, Denise Colle and husband, Trace of Bossier City, La.; two great grandsons, Austin and Zachary Reed, four great granddaughters, Madeline Reed, and Madison, Avery, and Kennedy Colle; two step-grandchildren Eric and Megan Davis; sister, Corrine Weems of West Monroe, a host of nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Violet May.
Pallbearers will be Charles Dykes, Slade Dykes, Henry Dodd, Trace Colle, Jeff Reed and Jeremy Jones.
Special thanks is given to Garden Court Nursing Home in Bossier City and to their wonderful staff who took such good care of our loved one.
