Irvin Cooksey Rites Held At Sharron Church

Funeral services for Irvin Miller Cooksey, 75, were held on Wednesday, December 15, at 2:00 p.m. in the Sharron Primitive Baptist Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Rev. Leon Everett, Rev. Clifton Thornton, Rev. James Albert Kelly, Rev. Herman Kelly and Rev. D. W. Hollingsworth officiated. Music was presented by Rev. Tommy Anderson.

Hudson Funeral Home directed arrangements with the nephews serving as pallbearers.

Cooksey passed away in the Newton Hospital on December 14. He was a farmer at Lake.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Fronia Cooksey of Lake; one son, Melvin Cooksey, Lawrence; one grandson, Pat Cooksey; one sister, Mrs. Trudye Hollingsworth of Decatur; one brother, Clyde Cooksey, Lake and a number of other relatives.
