Death of I. C. DeLoney

Mr. I. C. DeLoney of Russellville shot and fatally wounded himself at his home near Russellville, supposedly about 3 o'clock Sunday morning.

He was at home alone when the deed was committed, the negro servant finding him Sunday morning when he went to call him to breakfast. He telephoned immediately for a physician and the wounded man was carried to a hospital in Sheffield, where it was found he had shot himself in the mouth, the bullet lodging under the skin, from where it was removed.

He lingered until Wednesday morning about 1 o'clock and died. The remains will be interred in Tuscumbia today.

Mr. DeLoney was formerly superintendent for the T. C. I. Co. here, and married Miss Maude Riley of this place, who died a few years ago.

He is survived by three young sons. No cause is assigned for the rash deed which ended his life.
