The funeral of Mrs. Isabelle Manly, 91, of Vollman Lake was held at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the Riser &
Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Virgil Wilson and Dr. W. M. Causey officiating. Burial was in Columbia Hill
Cemetery.
Mrs. Manly died Saturday morning at the Columbia Heights Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
She was the widow of the late Steve H. Manly who was instrumental in creating Volman Lake at its present
status. He owned and operated a small store there at the time of his death several years ago.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Eva Cobb of Natchitoches, Mrs. Gertrude Tarver of Portland, Ore. and
Mrs. Murtle Duke of Columbia; 13 grand-children and several great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Tom Watts, Luther Watts, Lance Arthurs, Slim Hodges, Bob Lee and Charles Thompson.
