Services Today For I.A. Corley

MANSFIELD -- Funeral services for I. A. Corley, 88, of Mansfield who died at his home Thursday after a long illness will be held today at 10 a.m. in the Drewitt Memorial Chapel with Dr. George Ritchey officiating.

Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery under the direction of the Drewitt Funeral Home.

He was a native of Grant Parish, a retired merchant of Mansfield and was the oldest deacon of the First Baptist Church in Mansfield having been a member of that church since he moved to Mansfield in 1923.

He was also a member of Mansfield Lodge No. 250 Free and Accepted Masons and was a former member of the De Soto Parish School Board.

He is survived by four caughters, Mrs. P. J. Rowland, Mrs. H. E. Sewell and Mrs. Art Green all of Mansfield, Mrs. W. F. Collins of Lufkin, Tex.; two sons, Robert Corely [sic Corley] Sr. of Mansfield and Hickman Corley of Houston, Tex.; also four sisters, Mrs. Luther Gates and Mrs. Maude Sanderson both of Oakdale, Mrs. Ed Scarborough of Lake Charles, Mrs. Francis Odom of Houma; five brothers, Dr. Walter Corley of Alexandria, J. M. Corley of Little Rock, Ark., J. L. Corley of Winnfield and Elijah Corley of Oakdale and C. R. Corley of Lake Charles; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
