Ivey Chase Smith, Jr.
July 30, 1944 - November 26, 2015

Funeral services for Ivey Chase Smith, Jr. will be held Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville with the Reverend Kenneth Holloway. Interment will follow in the Emmanuel Catholic Cemetery, Chopin, Louisiana under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.

Ivey Smith, Jr., age 71 of Pineville, entered eternal rest on Thursday, November 26, 2015 in Grace Home, Alexandria.

Ivey was a member of Community Baptist Church, Tioga. He was a retired chef. Ivey loved cooking, gardening, family gatherings, and helping people. He was a very charitable and giving person.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ivey Smith, Sr. and Joyce Smith; grandparents, Vallery Poché and Sedona Scallan; sister, Sandra Hawthorne; and brother, Wayne Avis Smith.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Vercher Smith of Pineville; daughters, Tammy Dean (Clint) of Alexandria and Angel Mary Ann Davidson of The Woodlands, Texas; sons, Darrell Lynn Smith (Monica) of Pineville and Ivey Wayne Smith (Jessica) of Pineville; sisters, Mildred “Millie” Mabou of Ohio, Shirley Dauzart of Deville, Janice Bordelon of Marksville, Catherine Goss of Pineville and Barbara Ann Basco of Lecompte; brother, Jimmy Lee Smith of Pineville; nine grandchildren, Brittany, Koby, Dylan, Destiny and Emily Barnfield, Chance and Lane Smith, Ivey Jayden and Madalyn Smith, and KayLee Saucier; three great grandchildren, A.J. and Ameylia Lightell, and Kiah James Barnfield.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Rush Funeral Home on Saturday, November 28, 2015 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Sunday, November 29, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. until time of service.
