Ivey F. “Sonny” Freeman

Funeral services for Mr. Ivey F. “Sonny” Freeman of West Monroe will be 10:00am Thursday, July 30, 2015 at the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe with Rev. Matt Owens officiating. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 8:00pm Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the funeral home.

Mr. Freeman was born September 16, 1936 in Monroe, La and passed from this life on July 27, 2015 in Monroe, La at the age of 78.

He is preceded in death by his son, Terry Freeman, parents Paul and Gracie Freeman, brothers Dewitt and Sam, and sisters Tildy, Tootsie and Pauline.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Shirley A. Freeman; two sons, Mike Freeman & wife Gail and Robert Freeman, all of West Monroe; three brothers, Dan Freeman and Buddy Freeman both of West Monroe and Paul Freeman of Pierre, SD; one sister, Betty Salley of Pineville; two grandchildren, Leslie Breen and Michael Paul Freeman; six great-grandchildren, Jacob Breen, John Robert Breen, Emily Breen, Anna Beth Freeman, Cayden Freeman, Noah Freeman; also survived by a host of extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Michael Paul Freeman, Sean Freeman and Josh Freeman, Jay Lavespere, Randy Lavespere, Eric Lavespere.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Walter “Bub” Ezell and Norman Shaheen
