Ivy Henry Brown, 55, is Buried Monday at New Jena Cemetery
Ivy Henry Brown, 55, a lifelong resident of Jena, who died early Sunday
morning at a Pineville hospital as a result of complications resulting from a
long illness, was buried Monday afternoon following services held at the East
Jena Church of God, at 3 o'clock.
K. G. Brooks, pastor of Temple Baptist Church, and the Revs. Elbert Jones, J.
N. Sandifer, and James W. Miller conducted the final rites, with interment
following in the Jena Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral
Home in Jena. Graveside rites were conducted by the Temple pastor.
Mr. Brown, a farmer by occupation, is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ollie Brown
of Jena; two sons, James and Gemes, both of Jena; two brothers, Ferman and
Floyd, both of Jena, and five sisters, Mrs. Savilla Woodard, Mrs. May
McHaney, Mrs. Gertie Venson, Mrs. Gladys Norman, and Mrs. Icy Ainsworth, all
of Jena, and four grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers for the final rites were Cecil Carroll, Houston
Carroll, Travis Norman, Velton Woodard, Harlon Ainsworth, and Edward Blow,
all nephews of the deceased.
