Ivy Wayne Parker

Services for Mr. Ivy Wayne Parker, 60, will be at 2:30 p.m. today at the Evangeline Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Heard of Temple Batptist Church in Lafayette officiating.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until time of services today.

A native of Boyce and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Parker died at 6:48 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, 1999, at a New Iberia Hospital.

He was an Orthotist and had an extensive education and training from numerous University and teaching hospitals throughout the United States. He was retired from Lamberts Limbs & Braces in Lafayette, where he was manager for 28 years. He was a past member of the New Iberia Jaycees and the Beaver's Club of Lafayette.

Mr. Parker is survived by wife, Brenda Block Parker of New Iberia; three sons, Vernon Ray Moody of Forker Island, James Johnson Jr. of New Iberia and Steven Johnson of Broussard; two daughters, Rita Moody of St. Martinville and Valerie Parker Morvant of New Iberia; three brothers, James Jones of Grapeland, Texas, Barto Parker of Trinity, Texas and Vernon Ray Parker of Baytown, Texas; six sisters, Connie Barron of Pasadena, Texas, Bonnie Murrall of Hendersonville, Tenn., Doris Nichols of Polluck, Estelle Burke of Huffman, Texas, Patricia Templeton of Stuarts Draft, Va. and Latisha Brown of Leesburg, Va.; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death his parents, Lessie and Barto Parker; and four brothers, Jerry Eugene, Barton Donald and Carl Riley Parker.

The family wishes memorials be sent to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society in your area.
