J.B. Whittington, 88, of Gloster, died Feb. 28, 2003, at Walthall County General Hospital in Tylertown.
Visitation is 6-8 tonight at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster and 9 a.m. Monday until 10 a.m. services at the funeral home.The Rev. Bobby Greer will officiate. Burial will be in Mary Springs Cemetery in Gloster.
Mr. Whittington was born Feb. 26, 1915, in Amite County, son of Jim Buck Whittington and Myrtis Graves Whittington.
He was a farm manager.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Etta Butler Whittington; two brothers, Floyd and Grady Whittington; one sister, Verssie Freeman; and one grandson, Sam Whittington.
Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy Hughes and her husband Bubba of Gloster; two sons, Frank Whittington and his wife Teleda of Baton Rouge, La., and Joseph E. Whittington and his wife Ott of Port Orange, Fla.; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one brother, Hollis Whittington of Port Vincent, La.; and two sisters, Bernice Van Wagner of Gloster and Mae Butler of Prairieville, La.
