J.B. Zachary
April 5, 1923 - September 17, 2012

A resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Franklinton, LA, he passed away Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jackson, LA. He was 89, and retired from Allied Chemical South Works with 30 years of service. He was a US Army veteran of WWII, having served in the European Theater, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 from 9am until religious services in the chapel at 11am, conducted by Rev. Steve Bridges. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie Mott Zachary two daughters and sonsinlaw, Kimberly and Van Morgan of Clinton, and Fabian and Bailey Adams of Zachary two sons and daughtersinlaw, Mark Stephen and Faye Coker Zachary of Ethel, and Darryl Wayne and Vicki Adams Zachary of Baton Rouge 10 grandchildren, and 12 greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reamey and Ophelia Zachary.

Pallbearers are Cody DeLaney, Gerald Flowers, Shane Zachary, Heath Gridley, Benny King, and Adam King.

J.B. was a member of Brownfields Baptist Church.
