J. C Stewart, 23,
Final rites for J. C. Stewart, 23, of Rosalie Park, fatally injured Saturday night, were held yesterday at Liberty, Miss. He was injured when the car in which he was riding missed a turn near Lakeland and struck an embankment as the man was returning from a fish supper at a False river camp.
Four other occupants of the car -- Ressie Stewart, a brother; Brad Townley, Joe Attuso and Boyce Humphrey, driver -- escaped with only minor injuries.
Stewart was taken to the Moseley clinic at New Roads, where examination showed the man suffered three fractures of the skull. He died Sunday night at 11:30 o'clock.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. A. B. Stewart of Liberty, and six brothers, Cletus and Willis of Liberty, L. A. of Marksville, and Ressie, R. H. and E. R. of this city.
