J. D. Jones

WINNFIELD -- Services for J. D. Jones will be at 2 p.m. today in Laurel Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Braly officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories under direction of Southern.

Jones, 75, of Winnfield died Friday in his residence.

He was a member of Laurel Heights Baptist Church and attended Centenary College, Shreveport. He served as the Winnfield Superintendent of Utilities for 37 years. He was chairman of the Winnfield Housing Authority for 14 years.

Survivors include his wife, Lavone Jones of Winnfield; one son, J.D. ``Don'' Jones of Grimes, Iowa; two daughters, Carolyn Lemmons and Sarah Adcock, both of Shreveport; two brothers, W.B. Jones of New Orleans and John L. Jones of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
