SHREVEPORT, LA -- Funeral services for J. D. Strange, 70, will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2002 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Tommy Freeman, pastor of Ringgold United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. in Beech Creek Cemetery, Winn Parish.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at the funeral home.
Mr. Strange passed away June 3, 2002 in Shreveport, LA. He was a native of Winn Parish, Louisiana. He was a member of Ringgold United Methodist Church and a retired paint contractor. Mr. Strange proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Strange of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Peggy Strange Rodgers of Bossier City, LA; two grandsons, Dustin and Matthew Rodgers; brother, Troy Strange and wife, Florence; sisters-in-law, Doris Amos, Helen Bain and husband, Gene and Jeanie Huckabee and husband, Kenneth; numerous nieces and nephews and his best friend, James Causey of Ringgold.
A special thanks to Dr. Paul Schuler and staff of Willis Knighton Pierremont and Lifecare Hospital. A very special thanks to Jennifer Perfetto, physical therapist for her devotion and loving care.
