J.L. Blackwell

URANIA -- Services for J.L. Blackwell will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Russell officiating. Burial will be in Urania Cemetery under direction of Riser & Son, Olla.

Blackwell, 66, of Tullos died Wednesday, March 22, 1995, in his residence.

He was a native of Hebert and a horse trader. He was an electrician with La. Pacific Corp., retiring after 44 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Marcia A. Blackwell of Tullos; two sons, Bobby Blackwell and Rocky Blackwell, both of Urania; two daughters, Lisa Morgan of Tullos and Judy Smith of Olla; one stepson, Chris Hoadley of West Monroe; his mother, Beulah Blackwell of Hebert; one brother, J.D. Blackwell Jr. of Grayson; three sisters, Alma Maxwell of Baton Rouge, Mackie Duchesne and Joy Kelley, both of Hebert; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be John Honeycutt, John Thornton, James Thornton, Bud Ates, Bingo Boyette and Steve Guin.

Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. today in the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until time of services Saturday in the church.
