Bastrop, La., September 7. --(Special)-- Funeral services for J. O. McConathy, who died Wednesday night from injuries received in an automobile accident, will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church under the direction of Robinson Funeral Home.
The accident occurred on highway 165 at 1:30 Wednesday morning when McConathy crashed into the rear of a slow moving pickup truck, reported Bastorp [sic Bastrop] officials.
Officials stated that McConathy, who was driving a 1950 Ford sedan, was blinded by the lights of an approaching car.
The driver of the truck, Harold Gaulden, Negro, received only minor injuries.
