Mr. J. S. Harrell, age 78 a resident of Wiregrass Nursing Home in Geneva, AL, formerly of Rayville, LA, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2005 in Wiregrass Medical Center in Geneva.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, February 13, 2005 in Brown Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville, LA, with Rev. Don Doughty officiating. Burial will follow in the Rayville Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Brown Holley Funeral Home in Rayville, LA. The family will receive friends at the funeral hom Sunday from 1:00 PM until service time. Sorrells Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements in Geneva.
Mr. Harrell was born April 8, 1926 in Mt. Olive, MS, to the Steve and Hazel Walker Harrell. While serving in the U. S. Army he was a combat veteran of the Korean War and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge. He was a member of Maple Avenue Baptist Church in Geneva, AL.
Mr. Harrell was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Monroe Harrell.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years Floy Bell Goodwin Harrell of Geneva, AL; brother, Archie Lee and Barbara Harrell of Delhi, LA; sisters, Agnes Johnson of Delhi, LA, and Odell and Edgar Hodges of Bastrop, LA; brother-in-law, J. T. Goodwin of Farmerville, LA; sisters-in-law, Eula Smith of Lake Jackson, TX, and Pat Snuggs of Geneva, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
