JENA -- J. W. Richey, 58, of Manifest died Tuesday night in an Alexandria hospital after a sudden illness.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. in the Pisgah Baptist Church in Manifest with the Rev. Berry Hamilton and the Rev. Paul Nugent officiating. Burial will be in the Heard Cemetery in Manifest.

Mr. Richey is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Joyce Richardson of Manifest; one son, Harvey C. Richey of Manifest; four brothers, Elbert Richey, Charlie Richey and William M. Richey Jr., all of Hineston and Kury G. Richey of Manifest; six sisters, Mrs. Romadee Whitmire of Pineville, Mrs. Neva Lanier and Uner Wright, both of Manifest, Mrs. LaVerne Cockerhan [sic Cockerham] of Hineston, Mrs. Lila Mae Shippley [sic Shipley] of Jena and Mrs. Octavia Ainesworth [sic Ainsworth] of Enterprise; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William M. Richey Sr. of Manifest; and six grandchildren.
